Service Description

Every project is unique and begins with a complimentary consultation to assess scope and expectations. Once the scope is defined, the designer will determine whether a planning retainer is appropriate based on the complexity of the project. A planning retainer is a non-refundable fee that covers the time and labor required to develop the project plan. For larger remodels or complex planning projects—where the full retainer cannot be determined during the initial consult—this fee allows the project to move forward with detailed planning. If the client proceeds with the full project after planning, the planning retainer is credited toward the overall project retainer. If the client chooses not to move forward, the planning retainer remains non-refundable to honor the designer’s invested time and effort. For straightforward consulting services, such as floorplans or single-room layouts, the full retainer is typically determined after the initial consultation and no separate planning retainer is required.
